Friends of WomenSafe was launched in February of 2007.  Andrea Pollock, Sheila Heller

and Nancy Temple served as the founding officers who applied for and recieved the Charter

from the State of Ohio.  While waiting for the IRS to grant 501(c)3 status, our seven member

 board of directors was formed.  The initial board members were:

Friends of WomenSafe is governed by a Board of Directors, with three officers (President,

Secretary and Treasurer) comprising the Executive Committee.  Directors serve two year

terms with no term limits.  The current Board of Directors are:

President: Nancy Temple

 Nancy started as a WomenSafe volunteer in 1983. In 1989 she joined the

WomenSafe Board of Trustees as VP Development.  She held the position

of VP Board Development at the time she resigned from the WomenSafe Board

in 2006. She founded Friends of WomenSafe in February 2007 and has served as

President since that time. She chairs the Annual Spring Luncheon, Tea and Theater Parties.

 Secretary: Rosanne Lonsway

Rosanne joined Friends of WomenSafe in November of 2007 and accepted

the office of Secretary in February, 2009. Rosanne serves on the Committee

for the Annual Tea.

 Treasurer: Nancy Zamrzla

Nancy was a WomenSafe volunteer for several years before becoming a

founding member of Friends of WomenSafe in February of 2007. She has

served as Treasurer for the organization since the beginning in addition to

chairing our most successful fundraiser, the Annual Quilt Raffle and serving

on the Committees for the Luncheon and Tea.

Horace Spivey

A long-time supporter of WomenSafe and member of their Advisory Board,

Horace is a founding member of Friends of WomenSafe.  He served as

Board Secretary February 2007 through February 2009.

Marilyn Harman

Marilyn joined Friends of WomenSafe in May of 2007. 

She became a member of the Board of Directors in

February of 2009. She serves on the committees for

the Annual Luncheon and Tea.

Kathy Shimer

Kathy joined Friends of WomenSafe in May of 2009 and

became a member of the Board of Directors in February of

2010.  She Chairs our Wine Tasting event and serves on

the committees for the Annual Luncheon and Tea.

Nadine Pope

Nadine joined Friends of WomenSafe in March of 2010

and became a member of the Board of Directors in May, 2010.

She serves on the Committees for the annual Luncheon and Tea.
